How Has Beacon Hill Influenced Your Riding?
Recently, someone asked how Beacon Hill has influenced my riding. In December 2000, just after my twelve birthday, I had my first lesson with Frank Madden and started riding at Beacon Hill. It was a big step moving from the ponies to the horses!
My association with Beacon Hill has taught me to place a very high value on the horse's well-being, to develop and set yearly riding goals, to work hard in and out of the show ring, to value being a team player and to encourage other riders. This week, Beacon Hill will travel to Sussex, New Jersey, to the Garden State Horse Show.
Catch up with me later this week for an update on the show.
Talk to you later!

Maria,
I was just wondering about when you first came to Beacon Hill how often you moved up in the divisions? For example, did you do 2foot when you where 12, 2'3" when you where 13, 2'6" when you where 14 etc.? How often did you move up? Thanx, and good luck at the show!!

Hi Maria,
After you started riding at Beacon Hill, how long did it take you before you started showing in the "A" circuit? Also, will you be showing Whimsey again this year in the equitation or are you planning on showing a different horse? Thanks!
Hi Maria,
Do you have any ideas for reaonable goals you can set when your starting out? Like, what would you recommend to someone beginning? Also, are there many TBs at the finals or mostly warmbloods?
thx
hi maria!
I love your blog and i was just wondering if you were going to be showing at the hampton classic this summer. It would be great to see you ride in real life, so if you are gonna be there, what classes will you be in?
hey maria!
do you know who won the grand prix at garden state? i was there, but i was showing so i didn't get a chance to watch it.
thanks!
brianne goutal won the grand prix on Mon Gamon (Pinto) who is for sale.
its mon gamin, and i don't think that he's actually for sale anymore. they decided not to sell him, and if you are looking at hte beacon hill website, no ones updated it for like a year...
Hi,
I was wondering if you have any pointers on position over fences, b/c i really need them. ha.. but currently, i'm training my horse to jump (he's really green) and because of riding him more than any other horse, i have gotten into bad jumping habits. I'm going to a "b" show coming up on my friends amazing horse, so i was wondering if you have any good equitation pointers.
Thanks so much!
