Winter Equestrian Festival, 2/11/2007

Hi everyone!
I would like to acknowledge the enormous help given to me thus far during WEF by my trainers and those who train and own the horses I have been catch riding during the circuit. Every day here begins quite early, around 6:00am, and ends approximately twelve to thirteen hours later.

Although most people would consider the long days work, the requirements of the day are a comfortable spot and hardly seem like a requirement or a chore. Each day is a gift where I am fortunate to learn a great deal about horses and all they do require. For this, I'm grateful.

Today, was my second show in the Small Junior Hunters, ages 16-17, on EL Raymond, a beautiful chestnut gelding. We had a breakthrough day full of great learning experiences. We seem to be getting better and better each time out and I was really proud of him today.

I'll be in touch real soon with another update.

Maria, how do you think riding so many different horses has affected you? What are your long term goals and plans? Will you continue riding after high school?

Why would you sell Whimsey, don't you have another year at the maclay???????? Why did Brianne sell Logan to Chelsea, she didn't even make it to the Maclay?? She isn't good enough for Logan . . . She is a good rider and a nice girl, but she should have stuck with Onatello, they were a good team when she wasn't nervous.

okay guys, easy on the chelsea bashing. she rides great. and to be honest there is more to all of these riders than what you guys watched on that animal planet show. people circulate their eq horses all the time. don't be so harsh when you a. dont know the person you are being nasty to and b. dont know the situation of it all.

Chelsea is a great rider you guys! You should remember that during the Horse Power filming, she was competing at only 15 years old! Even one extra year of show experience can give a rider a huge difference in results, and I think Chelsea did a good job in holding her own with older and more experienced riders. In any event, she still seems to own and compete with Onatello, as well as Logan. Lighten up.

hey, my name is Elizabeth and I ride with Beacon Hill. I am personally great friends with Chelsea. Chelsea is a great rider. You do have to remember she is trying to follow in one of America's best riders footsteps, on Logan, who she has had for maybe a year?! For those who ride, you all know how hard it is to get to know a horse. Maybe she isn't getting all the credit she deserves. Honestly, Logan is not that easy to ride, although he is amazing to watch go around, like any horse, what is done behind the scenes, may be more than you think.

Heyy guys I ride in the small, medium, and large pony hunters at at all the big A and AA shows. I see chelsea go around and she looks great. You guys don't under stand how much money goes into showing at this level, millions, and the amount of time that you spend is overwelming. I ride my ponies everyday pretty much and it takes me about 3 1/2 hours to ride all 5. So don't bad mouth chelsea when she doesn't have a good day. I have crappy days to where I will chip a jump or have a bumpy round. She tries very hard and suceeds more than you think. That Animal Planet show didn't show the whole story and Chelsea probably was just new to the Big Eq class or having bad days. Everyone can't always win, but that doesn't mean that they always loose.

by riding next to some of the best junior riders in the world, chelsea doesnt seem like much..but compared to the rest of the world..she is amazing..you have to realize the level on which she is riding at.
