My feelings about leaving the Junior ranks
Moving out of the junior ranks is not frustrating or sad for me. In fact, I am looking forward to 2008 with great excitement and continued passion. I've had such wonderful experiences as a junior and I am very grateful for all of them. My current frame of mind is to absorb everything about the sport and the industry, in order to become the best horsewoman possible. I want to try to do a thorough job, so that the people who believe in me as a rider and a horsewoman, can be proud that I have become a part of their team. I have been fortunate since I started riding to be involved in an excellent training program which also included horse management.
As far as not being with and seeing my old barn mates, their families, and all of the staff associated with the barn, in the way I once did, I will remember them fondly and hope to continue to see them whenever possible .
The horses, well, with them, I always try to get them to trust and believe in me and, I, in turn, believe in them. The horses that I have been fortunate to know will always have a special place in my heart.
Catch up with me soon when I answer another one of your recent questions.
Talk to you later.
Happy Holidays,
Maria Schaub

Maria,
You had a great junior career to launch you into your professional career and overall career with horses. You are an amazing rider and are developing into a wonderful horsewoman that one day I know will be unbelievably successful. Good luck in everything that you do, and have a happy holiday season!!
there has been a lot of talk and confusion about frank and beacon hill. i don't know what is going on, but i think it would be great to clear everything up once and for all. and maria, i'm so glad to hear your more excited about your future than sad. your a great role model. keep up the amazing riding!

Maria- I have a few questions about the managment of horses that you do. I am currently riding and 'managing' in the sense 3 very different horses, plus my own who is off for a while. I was wondering what type of experiance you've had(i.e. managing horses with medical problems, layups, how much charge you've taken in caring/managing them/etc), how helpful it's been, etc. What i've done has been extremely satisfying (and taught me that riding is only half the job) and i have learned so much. If you could share any of your thoughts/experiances/tips on managing that'd be great! And thanks for such a wonderful blog. You must have a very busy schedual and it's really nice that you take time out to do this for all of us.

**to the ppl about the whole beacon hill thing..it seems to me that the whole situation is a sticky and personal one and maria might not feel it's her place to talk about it. that just my thoughts.
Let's leave Frank and Stacia's personal matters off this blog, everyone. Thank you.
Do you know what your first show as a professional might be?? Happy Holidays, and i wish you continued sucess in your future endeavors!
maria,
i am a junior rider who also hopes to someday compete at an Olympic level, but i was wondering if you could give any tips or advice to riders who maybe didn't have the amazing opportunities and horses that you had all through your junior career.
i agree with the frank stacia matter...i didn't know what was going on. sorry for bringing it up.

Maria,
If you are not riding with Beacon Hill will you be riding with Max Amaya or will you follow Frank.
yea are you riding solely for yourself or which trainer will you be with
I am a junior rider wanting to do equitation. I compete locally at it and come out wit firsts normally but living in a small town in west texas where western is the big thing is not easy. Can u give any of us junior riders any tips on how to become a better horsewoman. And good luck on ur upcoming shows as an adult. Ull do great.
It's obvious Maria doesn't want to talk abut whats going on w/ Frank and Beacon Hill. But for those of us who don't know, could someone write something in their blog (and post here that they did) or give us a website?
YEAH!!! EVERYONE wants to know what is going on!!!!!!
